Beth Borgen

Beth Borgen was named Lakeland University’s 18th president in October of 2020, the latest in a series of promotions to leadership roles with the institution during her 20-year tenure at Lakeland. She is the first female to lead the institution in its 164-year history. A first-generation college graduate, Borgen earned a bachelor’s degree in communication from St. Norbert College, an MBA from Lakeland and a Doctorate of Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Highlights of her presidency include the growth of Lakeland’s popular Cooperative Education program, along with significant expansion of relationships with the technical college system and regional employers that have positioned Lakeland as a school of choice.
