Ian Abston

Ian Abston is an entrepreneur committed to attracting and connecting top talent across Wisconsin.

He founded NEWaukee, a young professional group that became a cornerstone of the region’s talent landscape – and where he also launched Wisconsin’s first Night Market.

Following his exit from NEWaukee, Abston partnered with Jason Ilstrup to create the Hoan Group – a private network of 160 civic-minded leaders working to bridge the Milwaukee and Madison business communities through unique experiences, meaningful relationships and trust.

Furthermore, recognizing a gap in regional connectivity and leadership succession planning, Abston founded the leadership development organization: Forward 48.

He also spearheaded Light the Hoan, an initiative that raised $4 million to transform Milwaukee’s skyline.
