Kim Sawyer

Kim Sawyer is the Director of Growth & Strategic Partnerships at The Business News, where she gets to blend two lifelong passions: business and community. Raised by entrepreneurs in Door County, Kim grew up understanding the power of local businesses and the people behind them. Today, she’s thrilled to help advance TBN’s mission by showcasing the vibrancy of the state and delivering timely, trusted business news. Kim earned her undergraduate degree in business from St. Norbert College, where she also competed on the softball team, and later completed her MBA at UW-Oshkosh. A former Miss Door County, Kim went on to compete at Miss Wisconsin as Miss Green Bay Area — and was honored to be crowned Miss Wisconsin 2010. During her year of service, she championed lifelong volunteerism through her platform, Service for the Soul. With a career spanning fast-growing start-ups and established organizations, Kim brings experience in client services, talent acquisition, community engagement and business development. Kim is married to her husband, Nick, and is the proud mom of four amazing kids — Maggie, Annie, Archie and Brooke—who keep her busy coaching and cheering at a steady rotation of sporting events. When she’s not in “team mom” mode, you’ll find Kim soaking up lake life, good company, and a proper Wisconsin supper club—where the food is hearty and the old fashioneds are strong.
