Aspirus earns stroke care recognition from American Heart Association

NORTH CENTRAL WISCONSIN – Several Aspirus Health hospitals have received 2025 Get With The Guidelines® Stroke awards from the American Heart Association, recognizing excellence in applying the latest, evidence-based care to improve outcomes for stroke patients.

Donald Lloyd-Jones – past volunteer president of the American Heart Association and current volunteer chair of the Association’s Quality Oversight Committee – said the awards reflect Aspirus Health’s commitment to delivering high-quality, life-saving care through consistent adherence to national treatment guidelines that improve recovery times and survival rates.

“These awards showcase Aspirus Health’s focus on delivering consistent, evidence-based care,” he said. 

The following Aspirus hospitals were recognized in 2025:

  • Aspirus Wausau Hospital: Gold Plus; Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite; Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll
  • Aspirus Medford Hospital: Gold Plus; Target: Stroke Honor Roll; Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll; Rural Stroke Gold
  • Aspirus Langlade Hospital: Gold Plus; Target: Stroke Honor Roll; Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll; Rural Stroke Gold
  • Aspirus St. Luke’s Hospital: Silver Plus; Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite; Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll
  • Aspirus Eagle River Hospital: Silver Plus; Target: Stroke Honor Roll; Rural Stroke Silver
  • Aspirus Iron River Hospital: Silver Plus; Rural Stroke Bronze
