WISCONSIN – Door County Medical Center (DCMC) joined more than 1,000 healthcare advocates from across Wisconsin to learn about healthcare issues facing Wisconsin and to speak directly with state lawmakers at Wisconsin Hospital Association Advocacy Day – held in Madison earlier this spring.
“Rural hospitals and clinics are operating in a very challenging environment today,” DCMC CEO Brian Stephens said. “Fortunately, through our involvement with the Wisconsin Hospital Association and the Rural Wisconsin Hospital Cooperative, we can voice some of those challenges to legislators at both the state and federal levels and ask for regulations that make sense and fair reimbursement from government payors.”
Stephens said DCMC’s advocacy efforts “have been very effective over the past few years,” yielding regulatory relief for Rural Health Clinics and better reimbursement from the state Medicaid program.
