GREEN BAY – KI is preparing to open a new Inspiration Center in Chicago’s Fulton Market district.
Tony Besasie, chief sales and marketing officer at KI – said the move marks a shift from the company’s long-time presence at the Merchandise Mart and places the company in one of North America’s fastest-growing design hubs.
“Establishing a presence in Fulton Market places us at the center of one of the most dynamic communities shaping the future of design,” he said. “As Fulton Market rapidly emerges as North America’s epicenter for commercial interior design, opening our flagship Inspiration Center at the corner of Fulton and Aberdeen allows us to showcase a bold new dimension of the KI brand.”
Besasie said the new space – located on the eighth floor of the WELL-certified 1045 West Fulton building – is designed as a creative destination for architects, interior designers and design professionals to explore materials, products and applications across KI, KI Wall and Pallas Textiles.
“This space highlights our latest innovations and reinforces our commitment to delivering evocative, research-informed designs for architects and designers,” he said.
Designed by Chicago-based Whitney Architects and constructed by Redmond, Senior Superintendent Dan Dikic said the space is described as “industrial whimsy,” blending raw materials with playful, experiential design elements.
“It’s been a pleasure working alongside the KI and Whitney teams, and we’re proud to see the space near completion,” he said. “This project is a true testament to what’s possible when teams are aligned around a shared vision and commitment to quality.”
Besasie said the Inspiration Center will feature collaborative design zones, product vignettes, hospitality areas and hands-on material exploration spaces aimed at encouraging experimentation and idea development across industries, including corporate, education and healthcare design.
He said the KI Inspiration Center is scheduled to open during Design Days on June 8.
