CLEVELAND – Lakeshore College recently unveiled its $1.8 million state-of-the-art dental clinic expansion, celebrating the completion of upgraded classroom and lab space designed to train more oral healthcare professionals, including dental assistants and dental hygienists.
“This is an exciting day for Lakeshore College and the future of dental health education,” Lakeshore College President Paul Carlsen said. “We are grateful to our donors for making this opportunity possible for Lakeshore students who will have an impact on serving the future needs of our communities.”
Carlsen said the new learning environment fills a significant gap between the demand for and supply of oral healthcare professionals across the lakeshore area and beyond.
The previous lab, he said, was demolished to make room for the new lab that includes workstations, advanced equipment and supplies.
Carlsen said funding for the project was provided by the state and private donors – including the West Foundation with a gift of $150,000 and Heartland Dental with a gift of $135,000.
