NORTHEAST WISCONSIN – Lowney’s Landscaping has received its first Gold Awards from the Wisconsin Landscape Contractors Association (WLCA), earning top honors in both construction and maintenance in the 2026 Excellence in Landscaping Awards.
Lowney’s Landscape Architect Christine Kosiorek said one of the Gold Awards recognized a residential design and construction project at Thornberry Creek at Oneida.
Kosiorek said the multi-level outdoor living space includes an outdoor kitchen, ramada and hot tub, and was designed to address elevation challenges while creating functional areas for year-round use.
Jeremy Stryhn, Lowney’s director of landscape maintenance, said the company also earned Gold for commercial maintenance at the ThedaCare Appleton North Campus, where the company has managed year-round landscaping services since 2021 in partnership with property management.
Stryhn said the work includes maintenance across a large campus footprint, with services ranging from turf care and seasonal plantings to cleanup and long-term site upkeep.
“Working hand-in-hand with the management team at ThedaCare, we meet regularly to discuss scope and budgeting,” he said. “The campus footprint is nearly 60 acres, including green space, with approximately 14 acres of fine turf.”
In addition, Kosiorek said the company received a Bronze Award for a residential project in Kaukauna that involved rebuilding a failing riverfront landscape with significant elevation changes.
The redesign, he said, focused on stabilizing the terrain while preserving elements important to the homeowner.
