NORTHEAST WISCONSIN – Northeast Wisconsin Technical College recently welcomed nearly 200 high school juniors and seniors from across to its Green Bay and Marinette campuses for the college’s annual Tech Challenge.
Campus Experience Coordinator Kelly Barrette said the competition offered students the opportunity to demonstrate their skills and problem-solving abilities in a variety of technical fields, all while competing for scholarships to support their future education.
Scholarships of up to $1,000 were awarded to first place (gold) winners, and Barrette said in total, more than $20,000 in scholarships was distributed thanks to the NWTC Educational Foundation, the Byron L. Walter Family Trust, the Marinette Trades Club and the Ralph E. Peterson Estate.
“NWTC partners with local high schools to offer dual-credit options, allowing students to earn college credit while still in high school,” she said. “Tech Challenge provides an exciting way for students to apply those skills in a competitive setting, connect their coursework to actual career paths and get energized about continuing their education.”
