EAU CLAIRE – The Eau Claire Chamber of Commerce will again play host to the annual National Civics Bee, a competition designed to inspire young Americans to engage in civic education and community leadership.
The 2025 bee will see students participate in a multi-phase competition with an opportunity to win cash prizes at the local, state and national levels.
Director of Workforce and Emerging Talent Tina Probst said the chamber is seeking community members to encourage sixth-to-eighth graders to enter the competition (by submitting an essay), to volunteer as judges and to spread the word of the bee.
The timeline for bee events in 2025, are as followed:
- Essay submission deadline: Feb. 4, 2025, 11:59 p.m. eastern time
- Local competition: Saturday, April 12, Delong Middle School
- State competition: June 2025, Madison
- National competition: Fall 2025, Washington D.C.
