APPLETON – Appleton International Airport (ATW) recently announced that Allegiant Airlines will provide the airport’s sixth nonstop route to Florida – this one flying to Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW), with seasonal service beginning Nov. 21.
Scott Volberding – assistant airport director – said RSW serves travelers to and from Fort Myers, Sanibel Island, Bonita Springs, Naples and Marco Island.
“This new route will make getting to Florida even easier for residents of Northeast Wisconsin,” he said. “Our focus has always been to make travel faster, easier and more convenient, and that perfectly matches Allegiant’s investment to expand another route to Florida.”
Applauding the route addition, Outagamie County Executive Thomas Nelson said the more accessible “we are as a community, the more our businesses can grow.”
“Any time a flight is added to ATW, it makes our part of the world a better place to live and work,” he said.
