TWO RIVERS – After construction officially ended this summer, and following roughly two months of furnishing and decorating, Co-owner Melissa Nyssen said she and her sister/fellow co-owner, Amanda Hanley, are excited to finally welcome guests to the Violet Inn, Lounge & Spa.
The Business News first introduced readers to the Two Rivers business in the June 30, Northeast issue as the sister duo were knee-deep in renovations.
Now, Nyssen said their months of hard work is paying off.
“We just went online [mid-October],” she said. “Each room features a different asset of Two Rivers.”
With six guest rooms available to book, Nyssen said they’ve already sold a few gift certificates for stays and are in talks with several people interested in hosting events and parties at the inn.
“It’s really easy for [guests to host] family reunions, corporate retreats, bridal parties, [etc. at the inn],” she said. “And then, [if they need more room], the rest can stay at the Cobblestone [Hotel & Suites] right next door.”
Nyssen said the inn’s private entrance, accessible via a self-check-in code, combines the security of a hotel with the cozy atmosphere of a home.
“The inn is kind of the best of a hotel where you have the security – [most] houses don’t have a sprinkler system or a security system – but you don’t have to stand in line and get a plastic card to check in,” she said. “You just get a code, you can come [and go] whenever you want and it’s soundproofed as much as we could.”
Though the inn part of their facility is accessible only to guests, Nyssen said she and Hanley are hoping to open the public facets of their business to the community soon.
The Fox Den speakeasy, which will be located in the lower level of the Violet Inn, Nyssen said, will feature craft cocktails and a small-bites menu for both guests and non-inn patrons to enjoy.
“We’ll have a small menu – specialty drinks, classic ones – and then [we’re] heavy [on offering] non-alcoholic but beautiful, botanical-garnished drinks,” she said.
The downstairs massage rooms, yoga studio and infrared sauna room – whose use is complimentary with a stay at the Violet Inn, Lounge & Spa – Nyssen said, are also nearing completion.
Nyssen also said she and Hanley aim to plant and open both an actual garden and a public beer garden in the property’s backyard.
“We eventually want to make a beer garden in the back, [which] we weren’t going to do before,” she said. “We’re going to fence it in [and] just fill it with trees and shrubs, so it’ll be like a little secret garden in the back.”
Regardless, Nyssen said she and Hanley are “super excited” to soon welcome guests into the locally curated, relaxing space filled with intentional detail in every corner – paying homage to Two Rivers and Wisconsin’s lakeshore region. To learn more about the Violet Inn, Lounge & Spa, as well as remain up to date on the completion timelines of the property’s other spaces, visit violetinn.com.
