GREEN BAY – After more than 28 years at 2770 Manitowoc Road, Oak View Veterinary Hospital is building a new facility right around the corner – a project that Office Manager Chrissy Raduenz said comes as the staff continues to expand.
“We have recently gone from three to six doctors,” she said. “So, doubling that number has created quite a demand for more space.”
Raduenz said the clinic’s growth stems from rising patient demand, which first picked up during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“That first year [of the pandemic], we saw a lot of people adding a single pet to their family and perhaps adding more than one pet to their families and, as a result,” she said. “We certainly saw an uptick in the total number of household pets in our area at that time. That prompted the increased demand for our services.”
Located right next to the Bellevue water tower, at 2711 Continental Drive, Raduenz said the new office is visible from the parking lot of its current location.
The new ground-up, state-of-the-art facility, she said, will feature:
- Expanded exam and procedure rooms
- Full dental, surgical and treatment suites
- Enhanced comfort and amenities for our dedicated staff
- Increased capacity to welcome more clients – new and returning
Raduenz said the move into the new facility is scheduled for next spring to avoid making the transition during the Wisconsin winter months.
Dogs and cats
A full-service veterinary hospital with a staff of 24, Raduenz said Oak View Veterinary Hospital focuses exclusively on canines and felines – caring for 3,500 and 2,600, respectively.
According to oakviewvet.com, services range from wellness exams for puppies and kittens to senior pet care, including nutritional counseling, dental care and pain management.
The clinic, per the website, specializes in surgeries including spay, neuter and growth removals to ear hematoma repair, ocular surgery and gastropexy.
It also offers full dental hygiene services, as well as teeth cleaning, extraction and OraVet Tooth Sealants.
“There is a definite increase in the number of pets that we’re treating and, as a result, the need for both diagnostics and treatment plans increases as well,” she said.

Raduenz said the clinic makes a concerted effort to cater to the needs of its feline patients.
“We are a certified Cat Friendly Practice (CFP), which is a certification level that we have to meet,” she said. “We have different standards for how our feline patients are handled in the hospital and have acquired the silver level certification.”
Established by the Feline Veterinary Medical Association, the CFP program – according to catvets.com – is a global initiative designed to elevate care for cats by enhancing the environment and experience, as well as reducing stress for the cat caregiver and the entire veterinary team.
Raduenz said Oak View Veterinary Hospital has specified staff members who are cat-friendly advocates.
“[They] help to ensure we are always meeting the standards and practices required so that our feline patients and their families feel comfortable,” she said.
Raduenz said several veterinarians at the clinic have had the opportunity to care for clients’ pets throughout their entire lives.
“A few of our veterinarians have been practicing a long time and have been lucky enough to be a part of our team for many years,” she said. “They get to see a pet from the kitty or puppy stage, and they’ll get to work with them at each of the different stages in their lifecycle – that’s always extremely rewarding and interesting.”
