WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Mid-State Technical College is expanding its program offerings with three new career-focused degrees set to launch in fall 2026, aimed at meeting workforce demands in hospitality, agriculture and transportation.
According to Chris Severson – vice president of academics at Mid-State – the new programs include catering specialist; livestock technician; and auto collision repair and refinish technician, all designed to provide hands-on training for in-demand careers.
Severson said the catering specialist technical degree is believed to be the first of its kind in Wisconsin, preparing students for work in catering operations, event food service, culinary production and hospitality management.
The livestock technician program, he said, will focus on herd health, feeding practices, animal care and farm management, while the auto collision repair and refinish technician program will train students in structural repair, welding, refinishing and paint matching.
“These programs reflect Mid-State’s commitment to developing educational pathways that align directly with workforce needs across our region and state,” he said.
Applications for fall 2026 enrollment are now open.
