Auto Aces up and running in Hobart

HOBART – Auto Aces’ new Hobart service center wasted little time getting up to speed, with Owner Brian Buck saying the shop has maintained an almost full schedule since opening earlier this summer. 

Located at 611 Centerline Drive, in the village’s Centennial Centre Business Park, The Business News first reported on the plans for the service center in its Dec. 1, 2025 issue. 

Bayland Buildings served as the design/build general contractor on the project, and, functionally speaking, Buck said the facility “opened up very strong.” 

“The building has been seamless,” he said. “[With] the equipment we had in place, we haven’t had to do a whole lot of adjustments.” 

Business, Buck said, has also “been really good” from the get-go. 

“We’ve had an almost full schedule since we opened,” he said. 

Social media and printed flyers, Buck said, deserve much of the credit for all the early attention the new shop’s received. 

“And then, the build took about 11 months from start to finish, so people see it going on and people are nosy, so they drive by and think, ‘Hey, it looks like a shop – or what the heck is that?’” he laughed. “There was that, too, so I think the word travels fast.” 

Buck said the enthusiasm is also a testament to the demand for automotive services in and around Hobart.

“We’re a good alternative to the dealer,” he said.

Goodbye, Green Bay 

The Hobart location, Buck said, is essentially a relocation for Auto Aces’ now-former Green Bay shop. 

That location, he said, was the only of the five Auto Aces shops where he leased the property. 

Though he tried, Buck said he and the property owner could not come to a purchase agreement, which led to the relocation. 

“The whole [Auto Aces] business model is revolving around owning the property, so we can keep the prices within reason…,” he said. “Now, we own all the properties. And that’s how it has to be for us to make it work financially.”

Buck said the move has one notable downside: the Hobart shop doesn’t have an auto parts store next door (which the Green Bay location had), making parts runs a roughly 20-minute trip. 

He said the operation is “getting used to the logistics” of this relative remoteness, trying to stock up on the “small, consumable” parts needed for its more routine repairs. 

Other than that, Buck said the move to Hobart has been smooth for staff as well as former Green Bay customers. 

Among the latter, he said he’s seen “a bit of a split,” with some switching to Auto Aces of Ashwaubenon while others are embracing the new Hobart shop. 

“I surprisingly heard more often, ‘Well, now you’re closer to me,’” he said. “You’d be really surprised how much we pull from the Pulaski area, Hobart area…, [and] how often we hear, ‘Holy cow, I’m right down the road [from the new shop].’” 

Hello, Hobart 

For those unfamiliar with Auto Aces, Buck said the company’s locations are built around two priorities: convenience and affordability.

The convenience factor, he said, covers everything from quick scheduling, shuttle services, loaner cars for bigger projects and – if customers call by 9 a.m. – same-day tire replacement. 

Buck said it also refers to the “one-stop shop” nature of Auto Aces. 

“We’re really well rounded – we can do the majority of auto repairs,” he said. “There’s not a whole lot we can’t do, so that works out well. Tires, chassis, suspension – we have a lot of skill sets here that can handle almost anything that’s thrown at us.” 

From giving customers rides to work, rides home, picking them up and/or giving them a cup of coffee, Buck said “it’s about convenience.” 

And, as he works to roll out the red carpet for customers, he said the Village of Hobart has been just as polite to him. 

“I want to say ‘thank you’ to Hobart and the surrounding communities for welcoming us with open arms,” he said.
