NORTH CENTRAL WISCONSIN – Construction has started on Aspirus Health’s Chippewa Falls Hospital and Clinic following an official groundbreaking earlier this month.
Aspirus Health President and CEO Matt Heywood said in the weeks ahead, construction teams will begin work on the approximately 35,000-square-foot facility, a major step toward closing healthcare gaps in the region.
“This project strengthens our commitment to meeting the evolving needs of Chippewa Falls and the surrounding area,” he said. “We listened to the community, and this project directly answers what you’ve told us: you want more local healthcare options.”
Jason Krueger – vice president and general manager of Boldt, the general contractor for the new hospital – said crews began clearing and preparing the 22-acre site on Chippewa Crossing Boulevard earlier this year.
The project, Krueger said, will also add new roads to improve access to the future hospital campus.
“We know how vital these services are to the Chippewa Falls community,” he said. “[This includes] off-site fabrication, to help Aspirus bring this essential hospital online quickly so patients can start accessing these services sooner.”
Krueger said the facility’s first phase will deliver an emergency department with 10 treatment rooms, 10 inpatient beds, an on-site clinic with 12 treatment rooms, imaging services (X-ray and CT), laboratory services and a pharmacy.
The estimated completion date of Aspirus Chippewa Falls Hospital and Clinic is September 2026.
