CHIPPEWA FALLS – The Chippewa Falls Planning Commission has approved the conditional use permit (CUP) to Aspirus Health for the construction of a new hospital.
Aspirus representatives said the approval helps pave the way for bringing accessible emergency and inpatient services to the residents of Chippewa Falls and beyond.
Aspirus announced in November the intent to address the healthcare gaps in the Chippewa Falls area that have emerged in the wake of recent hospital and healthcare service closures.
Aspirus plans for the facility to be operational as early as 18 months after receiving all necessary approvals, representatives said.
The next steps involve finalizing the land purchase agreement and obtaining developer agreement approval from the city council, they said, which is anticipated within the next few weeks.
