WAUSAU – Aspirus Wausau Hospital has earned national recognition on the Forbes Top Hospitals 2026 list for excellence in quality, safety and patient care.

Per forbes.com, the ranking evaluated more than 2,600 general acute-care hospitals nationwide using publicly available data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

Hospitals, according to the website, were assessed on measures including mortality, complications, hospital-acquired infections, readmissions, patient experience, value of care and adherence to clinical best practices.

Jeff Wicklander – Aspirus SVP-president, Central Wisconsin Region – said Aspirus Wausau stood out for consistent performance across these key indicators.

“This recognition reflects the daily work of our caregivers and care teams who are focused on delivering safe, high-quality care to our patients and our community,” he said. “Our priority is always to improve outcomes, support families and make sure patients can trust the care they receive close to home.”

The Forbes Top Hospitals 2026 list – per forbes.com – is intended to provide patients and communities with transparent, data-driven insights into hospital performance using standardized, outcomes-focused criteria.
