Mid-State hosts first nursing summer camp for high schoolers

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Mid-State Technical College’s (Mid-State) Wisconsin Rapids campus hosted 13 high school students during two sessions of HealthQuest: Nursing Exploration Camp. 

Students explored the role of a registered nurse at the camps on the Wisconsin Rapids campus.

Camp attendees participated in various hands-on activities and simulations  and visited Mid-State’s Healthcare Simulation Center at Aspirus Riverview Hospital. 

“My favorite part about camp was going to Aspirus to see the simulation center,” Max St. Myers, an incoming senior at Lincoln High School who is also a member of Mid-State’s Cougar Crew, said. “I didn’t realize how realistic the high-fidelity simulators are and was excited to see the real-life scenarios they can replicate.”
