OSHKOSH – Barr, Inc., a global commercial refrigeration provider headquartered in Oshkosh, has launched Coolers for a Cause – a national initiative to provide essential coolers and freezers to 501(c)(3) food banks and pantries.
Vice President of Sales Jarvis McLimans said the program offers discounted, new and refurbished refrigeration units, along with free consultation to design storage solutions.
McLimans said the initiative builds on a pilot with the Oshkosh Area Community Pantry, which distributes more than three million pounds of food annually.
He said Barr aims to help organizations store fresh produce and meat safely, ensuring more families have access to nutritious food during the holiday season.
“Hunger is a problem that touches every county in America, and its impact is especially harsh on the most vulnerable,” he said. “With Coolers for a Cause, we are putting our industrial refrigeration expertise to work for a good cause, making it easier for food banks to keep their shelves stocked with nutritious, high-quality food.”
