GREEN BAY – EAGLE III, an emergency air and ground medical transportation program, recently celebrated 25 years of medical flights.

EAGLE III performed its first patient flight Jan. 25, 1999, from Bay Area Medical Center in Marinette to HSHS St. Vincent Hospital in the program’s Bell 407 Aircraft.

The heliport has since upgraded to an EC135 T2+ aircraft and has flown nearly 10,000 patients from medical facilities and accident scenes throughout the region.

“We have an incredibly dedicated team, from the flight crew to the support staff,” Shaun Stamnes, EAGLE III air medical coordinator, said.

EAGLE III would also like to recognize and thank the medical facilities and police, fire and EMS agencies that have helped make this milestone possible.
