GREEN BAY – KI was awarded the 2024 Wisconsin 75 Distinguished Performer Award in the sustainability category – recognizing the furniture manufacturer’s commitment to reducing the environmental impact of its processes and products.

The Wisconsin 75 program – presented by Deloitte – celebrates large privately held businesses headquartered in Wisconsin and the impact they have on the state’s economy and communities.

Tom Abrahamson, vice president of manufacturing operations at KI, said this recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of their employee-owners, who are deeply committed to sustainability.

“Our unique employee-owned culture drives us to take pride in what we make and how we make it,” he said. “We believe in supporting local manufacturing to ensure future generations have a healthy planet to thrive on.”

Abrahamson said KI’s approach to environmental stewardship is centered around three primary areas: operations and manufacturing, material safety and product life cycle.

Last year, he said KI was able to achieve a 17% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions and a 23.1% reduction in energy consumption compared to its 2017 baseline.

The company invests in renewable energy and uses healthy, non-toxic materials with high recycled content for its products.
