GREENLEAF – LedgeStone Vineyard & Winery is entering the summer season with several updates aimed at improving both guest experience and operational efficiency, including a new outdoor pavilion and expanded food and beverage service areas.

Owner Katrina Magnuson said the vineyard  – which The Business News first featured in its Dec. 27, 2023 issue – has added a new 40-by-40-foot pavilion that houses its wood-fired pizza operation and provides additional shade for visitors, while also streamlining prep and service areas for staff.

Magnuson said the new layout is designed to improve service flow during peak events, complete with four serving stations so that during concerts and events they can more efficiently serve wines and beers.

She said the expansion is part of a broader effort to improve comfort for guests on the property during the busy summer season.

Magnuson said the shade program at the vineyard is another initiative this year as they are managing and increasing shade for patrons.

“One step was relocating a 15-year-old tree and moving it 20 feet down the way,” she said. “The new 40-by-40-foot pavilion will provide additional shade as well.”

Additional improvements, Magnuson said, were made throughout the kitchen and prep areas, including deep cleaning, new draft lines, a rebuilt walk-in cooler and a new preparation space dedicated to pizza production.

The kitchen, she said, also now includes an electric double-deck oven.

Magnuson said LedgeStone closed briefly in April to complete the kitchen and workspace refresh and remodel.

“LedgeStone is a full-property experience – a place to take a walk, let your kids run through the vineyard and in the winter, enjoy snowshoeing through the vineyard,” she said. “The property itself has become something that can speak on its own.”

Magnuson said Gnarly Cedar Brewery, located just down the road in Wrightstown, is also preparing for its first full summer season after opening last September.

She said the experience of building Gnarly Cedar from the ground up has informed their broader operations.

Magnuson said Gnarly taught them how to build something from scratch, as they are still experiencing the new business excitement and appreciate the fact that Gnarly has found its place in the community of Wrightstown.

She said she sees a different and unique customer profile between their two establishments.

Summer season ahead at LedgeStone

With upgrades and changes in place, Magnuson said LedgeStone (6381 Hwy 57) happily welcomed the return of its Wine Down Concert Series, a signature summer event at the vineyard.

The Wine Down Concert Series, she said, has become a recurring summer tradition, drawing visitors to the vineyard for live music and evening events set among the vines.

Tickets for the series are already moving quickly, with some concerts reaching second or third release levels.
