NEENAH – The Bariatric Program at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Neenah, in partnership with Surgical Associates of Neenah, has once again received national re-accreditation.
The re-accreditation comes from the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program – a joint quality program of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
ThedaCare is one of 12 comprehensive bariatric surgery centers in Wisconsin and has been an accredited center with the American College of Surgeons since 2006.
“Our bariatric team, which is comprised of surgeons, nurses, dieticians, exercise specialists and behavioral health professionals, supports each person in all aspects of their journey – both physically and mentally,” Kevin Wasco, co-medical director of ThedaCare Bariatric Surgery Center, said. “Comprehensive care can support positive outcomes for patients.”
Since 2020, ThedaCare transitioned weight loss surgery to fully robotic-assisted surgery. ThedaCare is also one of 31 national observation sites for robotic bariatric surgery in the country.
