FOX CITIES – The Fox Cities Chamber has certified ThedaCare health system as a platinum-level Employee-Friendly Workplace, the highest level of the award a company can attain through the chamber.

According to the chamber, ThedaCare is only the second company to reach the platinum level, and the first Fox Cities healthcare provider to achieve certification.

Eric Broten, director of economic development at the Fox Cities Chamber, said the certification program recognizes employers who demonstrate a significant commitment to promoting work/life integration by creating a positive work environment and experience for all employees.

“We rate employers in four major categories: paid leave and flexible work schedules, health and wellness support, financial support and perks,” he said. “Employers are then given a score and, if qualified, are ranked as bronze, silver, gold or platinum.”

Broten said the mission of the Fox Cities Employee Friendly Workplace Initiative is to encourage the adoption of more employee-friendly workplace practices and policies to successfully attract and retain the best employees to the region.

To date, the chamber has certified 15 other companies as Employee-Friendly Workplaces.

Certification is open to all employers with operations located in Calumet, Outagamie and northern Winnebago counties.
