GREEN BAY – Hundreds of women professionals will once again come together for The Women’s Leadership Conference at the KI Convention Center in downtown Green Bay – Wisconsin’s largest one-day conference focused on empowering women along their career journey.
The Oct. 11 event – which is centered around educating, encouraging and inspiring women – was created by Vicki Updike, the founder of New Safe Strategies, LLC.
Updike said the all-day professional development and networking conference was created to provide a platform outside of the workplace to educate, encourage and inspire women to take their careers to the next level.
“The research is clear – companies with diverse leadership teams that include women and men outperform those without female representation,” she said. “However, despite the increased performance, in most business sectors nationwide, female representation remains below 25%.”
Updike said businesses and professionals need to continue to fuel the momentum of the progress we’ve made in gaining leadership roles for women.
“Many women face common challenges that often differ from their male counterparts,” she said. “Those challenges include confidence, imposter syndrome, finding your voice and work-life balance.”
Updike said the conference is designed to address these challenges and share solutions that empower and inspire women to keep progressing in their leadership journey.

She said this year’s theme – “Be Bold. Be You.” – provides attendees with an opportunity to step away from the daily routine, focus on personal growth, connect with others and learn from shared experiences.
In addition to the various networking opportunities, the day-long event will feature a handful of keynote speakers.
“Without a doubt, I am excited about our featured speakers,” she said. “This year’s lineup is dynamic. Keynote speaker Denise Thomas will present ‘Leading with Your Best Self and Authentic Mind.’ I have never seen a speaker radiate so much energy from the stage.”
The event will also have nine breakout sessions on various topics focused on career development, communication and finding one’s purpose.
“There truly is something for everyone,” Updike said. “It doesn’t matter where you are in your professional journey. This conference is for you.”
