SUAMICO – Since announcing her business plans earlier this year, Stacy Ryan, owner of Zen Den Yoga & Wellness Studio in Suamico’s Vickery Village, said all the legwork is paying off.

Ryan said the yoga/wellness studio, located at 1755 Riverside Drive, has been hosting classes since early September.

The Business News first shared Ryan’s journey to becoming a business owner in its June 30 edition.

“Our grand opening was Sept. 6,” she said. “We had great weather, a great turnout and great energy. It was a chance for people to mingle, check out the studio and sign up for some classes. I saw lots of familiar faces and some new ones.”

Ryan said the enthusiasm for Zen Den Yoga is definitely there – now it’s just about “getting more people in the door.”

“We’ve had 40,000 views on our social media,” she said. “There have been sales daily and people asking me a lot of questions. Before opening Zen Den, I didn’t quite know what to expect other than I knew the energy, excitement and interest were there.”

Now that summer has ended and kids are back in school, Ryan said parents’ routines are naturally shifting as well – a development she hopes will generate more class participants.

“With my fitness background, I know that walking through the door is the hardest part,” she said. “Once people get ‘there,’ it’s like a routine. We’re focused on getting people to start their routine.”

Reflecting on the first few weeks of classes at Zen Den, Ryan said she’s “thrilled” with how things have unfolded so far.

“The teachers are doing a great job promoting themselves, as well as each other,” she said. “For now, most days of the week, we have three or four classes running.”

From a logistical standpoint and a teacher standpoint, Ryan said there is a two-person minimum needed for each class to run.

“Two becomes three, three becomes six,” she said. “We’re thrilled with the momentum so far.”

Ryan said she’s also had a handful of businesses reach out looking to collaborate.

“There are opportunities we can expand [on],” she said. “For now, I really want to focus on creating consistency with what we already have on the schedule, rather than adding more things to the schedule. Let’s make it consistent and successful, and then we’ll build from there.”

Ryan said she has October meetings set up with people/businesses who can bring “some really cool things to the Zen Den.”
