TOWN OF HALLIE – After more than eight months of construction, Asher Lasting Exteriors has added to its list of locations.

With locations already in Eau Claire and Onalaska, Marketing Director Shannon Asher said the company has officially moved into its new, 33,000-square-foot building at 1654 Commercial Blvd. in the Town of Hallie.

The new building is located about 20 minutes from Asher’s Eau Claire location, Shannon said, adding that the company will continue to operate both existing showrooms as well as its facility in Onalaska.

News of Asher’s expansion first appeared in the Jan. 20 edition of The Business News, highlighting the project’s groundbreaking.

Shannon said the move was needed to add space and improve efficiency.

“It was a good problem to have,” she said. “We are super excited to be in the new building – we’re just finishing up a few things and getting settled in. So far, it’s been very well received, and people are happy and excited for us.”

Though plans for the expansion pre-date the COVID-19 pandemic, Shannon said when the pandemic hit, “lumber prices went through the rough, so we had to put plans on hold for a bit.”

Shannon said the company marked the move into its new facility with a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony held Sept. 26.
“With the new building, we also have more room to grow,” she said. “We currently have more space than we need, but this is for the future as well.”

Besides a few minor hiccups, Shannon said the construction process went smoothly.

“It was probably just like any other construction project,” she said. “You had to figure out what you needed and move forward. There were a few delays, but we decided to press forward and move in a little bit early, even though things weren’t completely completed in the showroom.”

Though the company had aimed to move in by July, Shannon said occupancy was delayed until August.

Shannon said the expansion builds on the Asher Lasting Exteriors legacy, which was started by her parents, Mike and Nadine Asher, in Mondovi more than 50 years ago.

Over the years, Shannon said the company has refined its focus and now specializes in six exterior products: windows, doors, gutters, Gutter Helmets, awnings and screens.
