MARINETTE – Waupaca Foundry Plant 4 in Marinette has been awarded the 2024 General Motors Supplier Quality Excellence Award (SQEA), marking the third time the company has received this prestigious honor, following recognition in 2018 and 2023.

Per gm.com, the SQEA recognizes GM’s top-performing manufacturing suppliers that meet or exceed rigorous criteria for quality, reliability and operational excellence.

To qualify, suppliers must demonstrate zero defects, 100% on-time delivery and full compliance with GM’s production standards.

Steve Wasil, chief commercial officer at Waupaca Foundry, said the recognition is a true testament to the dedication and teamwork of everyone at Plant 4.

“This recognition reflects our core commitment to being the supplier of choice, delivering industry-leading quality and building trust with our customers,” he said. “It fuels us to keep pushing forward, continuously innovate and to provide even greater value and performance.”

Plant 4, Wasil said, produces ductile iron castings used in automotive engines, suspensions, braking systems and drivelines across multiple GM platforms in North America.
