NEENAH – ThedaCare marked a milestone in its physician training efforts as it welcomes its first Graduate Medical Education (GME) residents and completes dedicated housing for the program
Lynn Detterman, president of the North Region of Froedtert ThedaCare, said the inaugural cohort was selected from nearly 2,000 applicants and will train across ThedaCare sites throughout the region.
Detterman said ThedaCare also recently completed the first phase of Roosevelt Commons, a 56-townhome development adjacent to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Neenah, designed for resident physicians.
The first phase, she said, includes 28 units.
“Welcoming our first class of resident physicians and opening dedicated resident housing marks a transformational moment for ThedaCare and the communities we serve,” she said. “This milestone reflects years of intentional investment and collaboration to build a long-term physician pipeline to serve our communities and to improve access to care, close to home.”
Detterman said the program is a partnership with the Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospitals and is intended to expand physician training capacity and strengthen the regional healthcare workforce.
