Lisa Haefs
Lisa A. Haefs is a freelancer with The Business News, focusing mainly on the North Central region.
A lifelong resident of Wisconsin’s Northwoods, Haefs is the former editor of The Antigo Daily Journal, retiring in 2020 after a 37-year career as a reporter, photographer and editor.
She also wrote several history books, including “Cats to Kings,” a review of the region’s storied legacy of Thoroughbred horse racing and “School Time,” a compilation of one-room schoolhouses.
Haefs has been cited by the Associated Press, Wisconsin School Board Association and a host of regional professional organizations.
Haefs and her husband, Mike, live on a small farm in rural Pelican Lake, focusing on dogs, chickens, horses, gardening and maple syrup.
