RHINELANDER – United Airlines officially launched its nonstop seasonal service between Rhinelander-Oneida County Airport (RHI) and Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) late last month – the first between the two locations in nearly four years.
In 2024, the airline announced its return of seasonal flights to/from RHI to ORD, May through September, onboard a CRJ200 regional jet aircraft operated by SkyWest Airlines under the United Express banner.
A second round-trip flight is expected to run from mid-June through Labor Day.
The inaugural flight was celebrated with an official ribbon cutting, remarks from local and regional speakers and a water cannon salute.
In addition to United, RHI is serviced by Delta with two flights a day between Rhinelander and Minneapolis.
