WAUPUN – The new 5,400-square-foot eye care services space in the lower level of the SSM Health Waupun Memorial Hospital is starting to take shape – with anticipated completion in late March.
An ophthalmologist, two optometrists and five eye care assistants will provide patient care in the $4.2-million space.
In addition, the services of a retina specialist and pediatric ophthalmologist will be available.
According to SSM, the space gives patients the convenience of receiving eye surgical procedures, like cataract surgery, within the hospital.
The new area will feature eight exam rooms, laser/procedure room, an optical coherence tomography scan (OCT) room, three provider offices and a contact lens room, as well as an optical shop offering a wide selection of frames.
Patients will have a direct entrance to eye care services and parking just off Main and Beaver Dam streets.
CD Smith Construction in Fond du Lac is the project’s general contractor, with Zimmerman Architectural Studios, Inc., of Milwaukee, serving as architect.
