KAUKAUNA – Contractors working on Heart of the Valley Metropolitan Sewerage District’s (HOVMSD) Interceptor Rehabilitation Project are making progress in rehabilitating the first section of the interceptor located between the Lawe Street Bridge and the wastewater treatment facility.

Cured-in-place pipe liners have been installed, and crews are now preparing to apply acid-resistant coatings to the related concrete structures.

Soon crews will begin work on the next section of the interceptor between the Lawe Street Bridge and Heesakker Park in Little Chute, which is expected to continue through spring 2025.

An area in Heesakker Park has been fenced for staging and will be unavailable until approximately next May.

The kayak launch at the park may be temporarily unavailable when crews move sections of bypass pipe into the river, and a trail closure inside the park is also expected to begin during the fourth quarter of 2024.

Project updates can be found on hvmsd.org.
