GREEN BAY – For the seventh consecutive year, Schneider National, Inc. has been named by the Women in Trucking Association (WIT) as one of the Top Companies for Women to Work in Transportation – a distinction Schneider Executive Vice President of Human Resources Angela Fish said underscores the company’s sustained commitment to gender equity in a traditionally male-dominated industry.
“Being named a Top Company for WIT for seven straight years is more than a milestone – it’s a reflection of our ongoing commitment to creating a responsible workplace where women can thrive,” she said.
In addition to this honor, Fish said Schneider was selected for WIT’s “Elite 30” list, which recognizes the top 30 companies receiving the highest number of industry-wide votes.
This elite designation, she said, highlights Schneider’s leadership in creating a workplace where women are supported, empowered and given opportunities to thrive.
“This recognition affirms the progress we’ve made and motivates us to continue building a culture where all associates feel valued, supported and empowered to grow,” she said.
According to WIT, at Schneider, women represent nearly 13% of its driver workforce – which is significantly higher than the industry average of about 9.5%.
Fish said the company’s dedication to advancing women in transportation is evident through initiatives such as:
- Industry-leading mixed-gender driver training guidelines
- The Schneider Women’s Network, the company’s longest-standing Business Resource Group
- The Courage over Comfort series, which was launched by the Schneider Women’s Network to promote emotional intelligence and inclusive leadership
- Home time options, with approximately 75% of Schneider drivers getting home weekly or more – including daily and consistent schedule opportunities
- Mentorship programs to foster personal and professional growth through mentor-mentee relationships
