OSHKOSH – Shea Electric & Communications marked Electrical Safety Month by emphasizing its long-standing focus on workplace safety, training and preventive maintenance across Northeast Wisconsin.
According to company representatives, the mission of the family-owned company centers on protecting workers and job sites, while ensuring electrical and communications systems are installed and maintained safely.
COO Dan Shea said the company has maintained an experience modification rate below 1.0 each year since 2010, a measure used to compare workplace safety performance against industry averages.
Dan said the company’s electricians complete OSHA 30 and NFPA 70E training and receive ongoing education on codes and safety standards.
Furthermore, he said the company has also received national recognition, including Safety Excellence and Zero Injuries Awards from the National Electrical Contractors Association.
Safety efforts extend beyond internal practices to customer job sites, where the company emphasizes preventive maintenance guided by NFPA 70B standards to help identify electrical issues before they lead to hazards or downtime.
Dan said Shea Electric’s approach is centered on improving reliability, reducing risk and reinforcing safety as a core value in every project.
