FOND DU LAC – SSM Health has awarded a $5,000 community health gift to Badgerland Youth for Christ (YFC) to support mentoring and youth development programs across Fond du Lac and surrounding communities.
YFC Executive Director Ron Riemersma said the organization serves hundreds of middle and high school students each week through mentoring relationships, youth centers and programs aimed at helping young people navigate challenges such as mental health concerns, homelessness and school disruption.
SSM Health Greater Fond du Lac Community Health Manager Laura Nakielski said the investment reflects the organization’s commitment to supporting youth and strengthening community health.
“Partnerships like this allow us to expand access to programs that create a sense of belonging and stability for young people,” she said. “When youth have trusted adults in their lives, the impact on their health can be truly life-changing.”
Riemersma said the funding will help expand access to mentorship and support services that foster resilience, confidence and connection among students.
“We are incredibly grateful for SSM Health’s support,” he said. “This gift strengthens our ability to meet students where they are, provide consistent mentorship and ensure they know they are not alone.”
