SHEBOYGAN FALLS – Changes are happening at FifthColor in Sheboygan Falls (1500 Stedman Way).
But, Ashley Vogel, vice president of marketing said, not to worry – the full-service experiential marketing agency isn’t changing its values or the way it runs.
In fact, she said it is those values, and the hard work of the entire team, that has prompted the need for expansion.
Part of FifthColor’s headquarter building is currently under construction to expand the cafe space for the team and more.
“We want to create a space where we can have the full team be able to sit down, and right now, we’ve just maxed out our capabilities in that space,” Vogel said.
The team is growing – and with that growth, she said it’s important to make sure there’s room for every employee at the table – quite literally.
“We really like to emphasize culture, and have full-team get-togethers and different events in the cafe,” she said.
The expanded space also allows for the company to continue its team lunches, which Vogel said are important when it comes to fostering culture within the team.
“We try to cater in lunch once a month from different local restaurants, different companies that we do work (with), and they work with us,” she said.
At FifthColor, Vogel said there are three different segments to the business – the agency division, the commercial print division and the events division.
Which, she said, means there are people working in the office, people working on the production floor and people who are out and about at events.
“We really want to have a space where we can still bring everyone together, because, truly, we are all the experts under one roof, and the (expansion) helps us live up to that,” she said. “(We want to) be able to bring everyone together into that space so that there really aren’t any divides across the company.”
Bringing everyone together in one space, Vogel said, also reminds the team that FifthColor is “one solid company.”
“And we’re able to get together (in the cafe) and enjoy each other’s presence,” she said.
By the time the expansion is finished – which Vogel said is expected to be completed by the end of October – the space will be double its original size.
In addition to the cafe, she said FifthColor is also adding closed office and cubicle spaces to continue to meet the needs of the growing team.
“We are looking at expanding a few different parts of our team and a few different departments, so that space is really necessary,” she said. “We just filled our last cubicle space, so we really need to get those offices in place so that we can keep expanding the team.”
Proven success
The need for the expanded cafe, Vogel said, is a testament to FifthColor’s continued success – “across all the different segments of business.”
“Because those spaces aren’t really just for one area, it’s for the entire team and the different capabilities that we’re building up,” she said.
Justin Webb, president and CEO of FifthColor, said the growth can be attributed to expanding the company’s services across professional sports activations, print and marketing.
“As demand for these services surged, we’ve responded by growing our team and expanding our capabilities to fill demand,” he said. “In the past six months alone, we’ve brought in five employees from other states to join our Sheboygan team, underscoring the national talent we’re attracting. This expansion has required us to increase our workspace and resources, ensuring we continue to meet client needs while maintaining the high standards that have driven our success.”
Vogel said the company is looking at expanding some of the departments, as well as bringing in more higher-level talent, to keep growing.
“We don’t ever want to get stagnant,” she said. “We’re always looking for new individuals who will be able to put us that much farther. We want to be able to have that space so that we can really bring on that talent and make sure that we’re continuously bettering ourselves.”
As the team looks to the future, Vogel said not only are they looking to be the best they can be for existing clients, but they’re also looking to see what’s next for themselves – to continue to prove that being located in a small town doesn’t mean the company can’t make a big impact.
“We’re a bunch of competitive people, so we really like to push each other, push our capabilities and see what we can do,” she said. “For the company as a whole, it’s really just looking at – how can we keep growing?… I think that’s what gets us most excited about what the future could hold for us.”
