GREEN BAY – Wello has partnered with the Green Bay Police Department (GBPD) for the Farm to Force initiative.

Working with Seasonal Harvest LLC, a local food hub, Wello recently dropped off grab-and-go size fruits and vegetables to officers and professional staff at the department.

Two other produce drops will take place in August and September.

“This initiative aligns with the work we’re doing to promote wellness for GBPD members,” Police Chief Chris Davis said. “The long hours, stressful calls, busy schedule and shift work our employees live with can make it hard to eat healthy, and having fresh produce available will help.”

Natalie Bomstad, executive director of Wello, said the partnership is the latest expansion of Wello’s work to create an equitable and sustainable food system for all residents in our community.

“We can’t help others if we ourselves aren’t healthy or well,” she said. “By connecting people in our community to local, fresh food from farms in our region, we continue to advance well-being so our people, places and economies can thrive.”

This partnership was made possible by a grant from the Rotary Club of Green Bay.
