CHIPPEWA FALLS – Northwestern Bank recently donated $5,000 to the Chippewa County AED Initiative – which will fund the distribution of 46 AED (automated external defibrillator) to law enforcement squad cars in Chippewa County.
“Aiding Chippewa County in acquiring AEDs for the squad cars will provide another layer of life-saving equipment to many people in the area,” Jamie Leibrandt, Northwestern Bank market president, said. “It’s part of our mission as a bank to build stronger communities where people matter and giving to causes that save lives is a part of that.
Daryl L. Pries, Cadott chief of police, said the AEDs are a tool to help law enforcement respond to cardiac arrest cases, “get there in most situations before emergency medical services can arrive and have that extra few minutes to help treat somebody at a more advanced level.”
