FOND DU LAC – The Agnesian HealthCare Foundation has announced the creation of the SSM Health St. Agnes Hospital Medical Staff Endowment Fund, a new initiative aimed at providing long-term support for patients, families and caregivers.

Deb Winterhack, the foundation’s director of development, said the endowment honors the more than 125-year legacy of SSM Health St. Agnes Hospital, founded in 1896 by the Congregation of Sisters of St. Agnes to deliver compassionate care to all, regardless of religious affiliation.

Winterhack said the fund will generate income to address the hospital’s greatest needs, including enhancing patient and family experiences; supporting staff well-being and professional development; and advancing clinical care.

She said its flexible structure is designed to help the hospital adapt to evolving healthcare challenges.

Medical staff leaders describe the endowment as both a commitment to future patient care and an investment in the workforce, ensuring sustainable resources for generations to come.

“This endowment reflects who we are as a medical staff and why we chose to practice at SSM Health St. Agnes Hospital,” Noman Mahmood, chief of staff at SSM Health St. Agnes Hospital Medical Staff, said. “Through this endowment, we are reaffirming our responsibility to care not only for today’s patients, but for future generations who will turn to SSM Health St. Agnes Hospital in times of need.”
