MARINETTE – Hydrovita Infusion Lounge opened earlier this summer at 1707 Stephenson St. in Marinette.

Owner Kara Sallgren said the business, which also has a Green Bay location, provides infusions and injections targeted to support a variety of health and wellness issues.

Sallgren said she is excited to offer these services to the Marinette community.

A registered nurse with more than 11 years of experience, Sallgren said before she jumped at the opportunity to reach a different audience, she previously worked in family practice and cardiology clinics.

“I’ve always been really passionate about holistic wellness and making sure we’re as healthy as we can be to feel our best and age well,” she said. “I’m really excited to bring this to a community I love so deeply and educate people on how to be healthy and stay healthy. People put health to the side until they start feeling bad, and I want to help people before they get to that point.”

More on Hydrovita

According to its website, Hydrovita Infusion Lounge offers IV (intravenous) infusions and intramuscular injections that consist of vitamins, amino acids and other ingredients that can be used for different issues such as immunity, energy, performance and recovery and more.

Sallgren said customers can book appointments online or are welcome to visit in-person for a brief assessment to determine what they want from a service.

“I like to meet people and chat about whether an infusion or injection is right for them,” she said.

Infusions, Sallgren said, consist of a 1,000 ml bag of normal saline (electrolytes) to which a mineral blend is added.

The IV, she said, is then inserted into the vein and generally takes an hour or 45 minutes to be fully administered.

By law, Sallgren said treatments must be administered by a registered nurse.

Intramuscular injections (which are injected into a muscle), Sallgren said, take fewer than five minutes to draw up and administer.

“(Intramuscular) injections are a great option for people who don’t have time to sit for an hour or 45 minutes,” she said.

As for results, Sallgren said every person responds differently to every treatment – adding that factors, such as one’s general health, metabolism and GI (gastrointestinal) system all play a role in how soon or how long benefits are seen.

“Most people feel the benefits for a few days after the infusion,” she said. “I tell people a great place to start is once a month, and after three months, you’ll feel a significant difference.”

Some of the infusion options at Hydrovita, Sallgren said, include:

  • Wellness & Immunity – which includes Vitamin C, Zinc, B Complex (B1,2,3,5,6) and Glutathione and supports body’s natural ability to prevent and recover from illness.
  • Elevated Wellness & Immunity – similar to Wellness & Immunity but also includes B12 and a triple dose of Vitamin C.

Other offerings

Hydrovita also offers NAD (Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide) infusions and injections – an enzyme found in all living cells and used to promote energy, according to the National Institutes of Health.

“I really love the NAD, and it’s one that I’ve been using regularly, and the one I’ve noticed the most difference from,” Sallgren said. “NAD is in our cells but gets depleted as we age. Putting it back in the body improves just about everything in the entire body system. It’s the biggest bang for your buck, so to speak.”
