GREEN BAY – JobPod, an initiative dedicated to connecting job seekers with employment resources through public libraries, recently announced its new “Powered by Microsoft” status.

JobPod aims to merge the community library spaces with essential workforce development services, offering a comprehensive range of job services and resources.

Through its collaboration with Microsoft, JobPod will be able to provide training in digital literacy and technology skills – facilitating opportunities for community members to learn, grow and succeed in a rapidly evolving job market.

“Microsoft’s commitment to digital inclusion is exemplified through the JobPod initiative, which is designed to bridge the digital divide and foster inclusive economic opportunities,” Michelle Schuler with TechSpark Wisconsin, an initiative of Microsoft, said.

JobPod was created by the Bay Area Workforce Development Board, the Brown County Library, the Department of Workforce Development and the Nicolet Federated Library System.

It is currently operational in three locations throughout the state, including the Brown County Library East Branch, the Algoma Public Library and the Niagara Public Library.

Vickie Patterson, executive director of the Bay Area Workforce Development Board, said the collaboration with Microsoft “represents a significant step forward in our mission to empower job seekers across Wisconsin.”

Patterson said the JobPod team is actively looking for additional library sites throughout the state to expand into.
