SSM Health Cancer Care attains national accreditation

FOND DU LAC – SSM Health Cancer Care, 480 E. Division St. in Fond du Lac, has again received accreditation under the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Commission on Cancer (CoC) Accreditation Program.

Per ACS’ website (facs.org), the CoC is a consortium of professional organizations dedicated to improving survival and quality of life for patients with cancer by setting and raising standards.

CoC accreditation is granted to institutions committed to providing high-quality cancer care by demonstrating compliance with the CoC standards, with each cancer program undergoing rigorous evaluation and, to maintain accreditation, a site visit every three years.

“We are dedicated to growing and consistently improving our service lines to better serve our region,” Shannon Rathke, SSM Health Fond du Lac Market Cancer Committee chairperson, said. “These distinctions are just one way we are ensuring quality care for our patients.”

As a CoC-accredited institution, SSM Health Cancer Care also becomes an ACS Surgical Quality Partner.
