MEDFORD/PHILLIPS – Taylored Family Care Clinic – with locations in Medford (811 W. Broadway Ave. A) and Phillips (133 N. Lake Ave.) – is broadening its care line-up.
Owner and Family Nurse Practitioner Rebecca Gilbertson said the direct pay family care clinic – first featured by The Business News in its Nov. 11, 2024 issue – now provides weekly ultrasounds, monthly mammograms and bone density scans, along with as-needed echocardiograms.
Gilbertson said the expansion answers a growing community need.
“We’re bringing imaging to our community so they don’t have to travel long distances to get affordable imaging,” she said.
Gilbertson said the new services are provided through a partnership with a local radiology group.
And as with the clinic’s other direct pay offerings, she said pricing is posted in advance so patients know the cost upfront.
“It’s all direct pay at the time of service,” she said. “We keep our prices transparent.”
According to the clinic’s Facebook page, ultrasounds are $425, echocardiograms $600, mammograms $525 and bone-density scans $200.
Providing an affordable option
Gilbertson – who has a Doctorate in Nursing Practice and a functional medicine certification – said she launched Taylored Family Care Clinic in 2013 with just herself and a receptionist.
Today – according to tayloredfamilycare.com – the clinic has grown to a team of at least 15 staff members.
This includes a handful of nurse practitioners – Gilbertson, Lori Wernham, Mike Borgen, Jacki Stelzel andTori Rindt.
Other staff includes:
- Sheala Pinter – nursing assistant
- Samantha Staab – office manager
- Jackie Amborn – medical assistant
- Tiffany Nuernberger – medical assistant/X-ray tech
- Genny Nemitz – medical assistant
- Amy Winter – medical assistant/receptionist
- DeAnna Miller – receptionist
- Jami Kloth – receptionist
- Chris Gajewski – medical assistant/receptionist
- Lynnae Helgeson – receptionist
When she started the clinic more than a decade ago, Gilbertson said she never anticipated it would grow into what it is today.
Humbled by the clinic’s growth, she said she’s grateful for the opportunity to serve the community, including local businesses.
“Now, we contract with probably close to 30 companies that send their employees here,” she said. “It’s been great for the community.”
In a time when finances are stretched, Gilbertson said it’s important to her to help patients receive care without significant out-of-pocket costs.
That need for more affordable options, she said, was a key reason she started the clinic, as many patients were paying hundreds of dollars for routine visits.
Beyond its new diagnostic services, Taylored Family Care Clinic – per its website – provides a comprehensive list of services, from annual exams, acute care visits, individual lab tests, commercial driver license (CDL) physicals and occupational health services.
Under the clinic’s direct pay model, insurance is not accepted – however, Gilbertson said prices are posted online so patients can see costs in advance.
A Level 1 visit, for example – per the website – is $95 and covers routine concerns, such as colds, flu symptoms, sore throats, ear infections, bladder infections and minor eye issues.
The clinic’s Level 2 appointments – which, according to the website, cost $120 – include well-child care, various physical exams and follow-up visits.
Level 3 visits are listed at $150 and cover services such as annual physicals, pre-op physicals, food allergies and management of multiple chronic illnesses or conditions.
“Our pricing is straightforward,” she said. “No surprises, no hidden fees, just quality health care at an affordable price.”

The website also lists a range of lab tests available through what it calls self-directed lab ordering – with results sent directly to the patient.
Gilbertson said a separate visit is required if a provider’s interpretation or guidance is requested.
The clinic’s goal, she said, has always been to make patients’ healthcare journeys seamless and stress-free.
“Bringing these vital services to you is the next step in that mission,” she said.
By prioritizing longer appointments, Gilbertson said the Taylored Family Care team can take time to truly listen to patients and provide the compassionate care they deserve.
“We don’t just treat symptoms – we treat people,” she said.
Gilbertson’s background
Born and raised in Medford, Gilbertson – a mother of four – said before her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the University of Minnesota in 2007, she trained as a midwife at Frontier University in Kentucky and earned her family nurse practitioner degree from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 1998.
According to the clinic’s website, Gilbertson spent 10 years working within the Mayo Health Care System in Arcadia and La Crosse, followed by more than two years practicing rural health care with Memorial Medical Center in Greenwood.
She said she also holds a certificate in natural health care and has recently earned a functional medicine certification.
