FOND DU LAC – The Agnesian HealthCare Foundation has received 3,000 Bombas socks to share with individuals served by the SSM Health Samaritan Clinic, emergency rooms and long-term care facilities.
Bombas – a comfort-focused, basics apparel brand with a mission to help those in need – was originally founded in 2013 because socks are the No. 1 most requested clothing item at homeless shelters.
Underwear and T-shirts are No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.
Though known for its socks, Bombas began offering T-shirts in 2019 and underwear in 2021.
For every item purchased, a specially designed item is donated to someone at risk of or currently experiencing homelessness.
To date, Bombas has donated more than 100 million items.
“We work closely with our teams to thoroughly understand the specific needs of our patients and their families,” Shawn Fisher, Agnesian HealthCare Foundation executive director, said. “We have been supplying socks annually to our Samaritan Clinic patients, as well as individuals coming to our emergency rooms. This donation will help us continue these efforts. Thanks to generous donations, we provide hats, gloves and other clothing items to those in our communities who are struggling financially.”
