APPLETON — Registration is now open for the 2024 summer seminars held at Bjˆrklunden, Lawrence University’s northern campus and retreat center.
Located south of Baileys Harbor in Door County, Bjˆrklunden seminars provide opportunities for learners of all ages and backgrounds to come together and expand their horizons, share community with each other and enjoy the beauty of the 441-acre retreat along the Lake Michigan shoreline.
Open to the public and led by academic, artistic and cultural leaders, seminar participants engage in subjects, including history, literature, arts, sciences and contemporary society.

The 2024 presidential campaign, led by Terry MoranWinifred C. Boynton’s art and vision for building the Norwegian “stavkirke” chapel at Bjˆrklunden, led by Marjorie GrahamFive works of democracy-themed literature, led by Bronwyn MauldinExploring historic relationships — with Russia and Ukraine being one seminar and Israel and Palestine being the second — led by Tim CrainMushrooms, led by Charlotte Lukes
More than 20 seminars will be offered in total.
Seminars generally begin Sunday evening and end Friday afternoon.
