WRIGHTSTOWN – Alliance Construction & Design – a full-service design-build company located at 1050 Broadway St. in Wrightstown – has come a long way in its 15 years in business.
Specializing in commercial and industrial projects, President Todd Parczick said Alliance offers a turnkey approach that streamlines the construction process from conception to completion.
Growth over the years
Parczick first started Alliance in 2009 – operating out of a small office on Franklin Street in De Pere.
The company, he said, began with modest projects, like small room remodels and garage additions – “it grew from there.”
“I knew I wanted to start something on my own, and that finally happened when I incorporated the company in July 2009,” he said. “My main focus was to be disciplined.”
Driven by a growing demand for services, Parczick said Alliance quickly expanded its team and operations – moving 10 miles down the road to a larger facility, equipped with its own shop, in the Village of Wrightstown.
“The building we’re currently in is the old Denmark State Bank,” he said. “We’re doing a remodel of the inside of the building to maximize the square footage we have. We’ll add enough room for roughly another eight office people. With the upstairs and downstairs (of the office building), we have about 12,000 square feet of space. Out back, we have a separate shop building of about 10,000 square feet.”
Mark VerHaagh, vice president of Alliance, said the economic downturn after the 2008 recession “left a significant gap in the market, as many construction firms downsized or went out of business,” which led to a growing demand for construction services.
“Recognizing this, we saw a chance to fill this void and build a company grounded in resilience, quality and forward-thinking practices,” he said. “Our journey from identifying a post-recession market opportunity to becoming an established leader in construction is a testament to the strength and capability of our team.”
Services, projects
Alliance’s comprehensive pre-construction service, Parczick said, allows the company to work directly with owners to develop a detailed plan prior to construction.
He said pre-construction services include:
- Pre-construction meeting – define project and scope
- Site analysis
- Conceptual design
- Conceptual estimating
- Analysis of zoning, permitting and municipal requirements
- Value-engineering
- Scope coordination
- LEED analysis
- Rigorous subcontractor qualifications
- Preliminary schedule
- Constructability review
Evaluating all possible scenarios upfront and having realistic expectations, Parczick said, helps avoid issues while the project is underway.
“It’s a real win-win for everyone involved,” he said.
Parczick said Alliance mostly works in the industrial and commercial sectors.
Commercial construction, he said, is fast-paced and always changing, which is why quality, safety, speed and cost play a significant role in the successful execution of every commercial project.
Alliance, Parczick said, also offers full design-build, renovation and construction services of industrial buildings to businesses throughout the State of Wisconsin.
He said the company’s engineers and designers have developed numerous customized solutions for various manufacturing industries – “allowing us to perfect our designs, manufacturing, cost effectiveness and delivery time.”
“We are currently working on getting into more residential jobs – we’ve done them throughout the years, (but are looking to increase that aspect of business),” he said. “I could see us getting into more higher-end custom homes – we don’t want to build cookie-cutter homes.”
Regardless of the job, Parczick said Alliance focuses on four goals:
- Quality services
- On-time and within budget delivery
- Complete client satisfaction
- Employee safety
Alliance’s mission, Parczick said, it “to provide the highest standard of design-build services through unwavering integrity, determination, foresight and teamwork.”
The now-team of 50, Parczik said, has completed millions of dollars worth of projects over the years – large and small.
“The company’s high-profile design-builds include the Round Lake Farms event center in Brillon, the expansion of Cruisers Yachts, an Uncle Mike’s in Appleton and the recent new building going up in Bellevue for the Dorsch Ford Lincoln Kia expansion and its 4,800-square-foot showroom,” he said.
Parczick said the last 15 years have been “satisfying, but we simply work.”
“It’s another week and another day,” he said. “We stop sometimes and say, ‘wow, look what we did,’ but it’s all about us taking care of our employees and doing a great job for our clients. When it comes back to looking at ourselves with a pat on our back, that’s not our style, but we’re proud of what we’ve done.”
The future
As for the future, VerHaagh said the goal is to uphold the reputation Alliance has created.
“It’s about embracing a never-quit attitude, fostering forward-thinking and prioritizing a team-first approach that will continue to be the foundation of our success,” he said. “We are excited about the opportunities ahead and remain steadfast in our dedication to these core values. By staying true to what has made us successful, we will continue to build a bright and promising future for our company and our clients.”
Parczick also echoed VerHaagh’s words – saying “go big or go home.”
“If you’re not growing, you’re dying,” he said. “We are constantly strategizing on how to get to the next level. I believe in my people – we are about respect and humility. It’s a big part of how we run our company. It’s old-school values coming from Alliance Construction.”
