NORTHEAST WISCONSIN – In every issue of The Business News, the People who make a difference profile series takes a moment to highlight members of the Northeast Wisconsin business community who give of themselves through a variety of avenues.

Whether it’s volunteering as the emcee at local nonprofits’ fundraising events like Bill Jartz, sharing their financial expertise with a handful of organizations by serving on their boards like Karen Monfre or taking time from their busy work schedule to help guide the next generation as a Girl Scout troop leader like Sabrina Robbins – the series attempts to shine a light on those giving back, for no other reason than to help the communities they live and work in.

As The Business News continues to grow its online and social media presence, we will also be building on the People who make a difference series with the addition of a monthly visual component.

Going forward, in addition to the written piece that appears in the last issue of each month, People who make a difference will now also include a video interview with that issue’s interviewee – which will be produced and edited by Jaime Lee and Aaron Wallrich with Voluminance Video Studio, the folks behind the online-based news program, Shawano News.

Who is Jaime Lee?
For the past two years, in a time when there seemed to be more bad news than good, Shawano native Jaime Lee said she has taken it upon herself to shine a light on the bright spots through the platform Shawano News.

Growing up in the Northeast Wisconsin community, Jaime said she often feels like she is walking in her father’s (who sadly passed away when she was a child) footsteps – as the “entertainer and bright light of the family.”

“I always felt like I was keeping his legacy alive,” she said.

A University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire graduate with a degree in broadcast journalism, Jaime said being able to use her knowledge and experience behind the camera now to focus on the positive helps her as much, if not more, than it does the community.

Now, Jaime is broadening her “positive” reach, coming on board with The Business News to produce a visual component to the People who make a difference series.

“I think it’s important to showcase giving back,” she said. “These difference makers went out on a limb to do something different and to make a difference by being an example of what is possible.”

Similarly, to the written profile in The Business News, the video will also highlight each individual’s contributions to their community – be it volunteering, giving, donations, etc.

“Working with a purpose makes all the difference,” Jaime said. “And that kind of sums it up. All of us have to go to work, and we have family and relationships, but the purpose is what makes all the difference in how you can serve others with your gifts.”
