FOND DU LAC – SSM Health Greater Fond du Lac was recently recognized with an Economic Development Award at Marian University’s 42nd annual Business and Industry Awards.
Established in 1981, the awards honor area businesses for entrepreneurship, economic development, special achievement and commitment to the community.
SSM Health Greater Fond du Lac has offered care close to home for more than 127 years, while giving back to the community through donations to nonprofit organizations, or planning how to address unmet health needs with community partners.
“During our rich history, our teams have stepped forward countless times to find solutions to health concerns that directly impact our residents and their families,” Katherine Vergos, SSM Health St. Agnes Hospital president, said. “It’s quite amazing to think back over these milestones, both past and current. Many of these endeavors we completed with community partners.”
As the second largest employer in Fond du Lac County – now employing nearly 3,000 people – SSM Health Greater Fond du Lac’s total annual impact is $914 million.
Within that figure, SSM Health Greater Fond du Lac’s tax impact is $17 million.
Other awards given were Business of the Year, Community Collaboration Award, Entrepreneur of the Year, International Business Achievement Award, Special Achievement Award and the George Becker Business Spirit Award.
